On January 25th, President Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan visited BYD's headquarters in Shenzhen, and linked up with BYD President Wang Chuanfu to hold a production launching ceremony for BYD's Uzbekistan plant, witnessing the production launching of the first model - Song PLUS DM-i.BYD Car delivered the 10,000th new energy vehicle in the Uzbek market, a Yangwang U8, to Mirziyoyev, and demonstrated the Rangoon U8's turn-around-in-place function.
BYD UZBEKISTAN FACTORY, BYD's first overseas joint venture, was registered in Jizak on January 23, 2023, with a registered capital of 55 billion soums (about 33.9 million RMB), with UAC Group holding 60% of the shares and BYD Europe B.V. holding 40% of the shares.
On September 26, 2023, BYD founder Wang Chuanfu visited Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, and signed an investment agreement on "organizing the production of electric and hybrid vehicles and their components in Uzbekistan".
It is reported that the Uzbekistan factory is an important layout for BYD to radiate the Central Asian market.
