Vibration and immersion in water are the most testing scenarios for batteries in daily use, and FAW-Volkswagen's battery safety test requires harsh requirements for these two scenarios. The national standard requires that the battery should not catch fire for 13 hours under the vibration condition of 3 degrees of freedom, while FAW-Volkswagen's test has tripled the vibration level and can reach 172 hours without fire. The requirement of the national standard for the water immersion test is that the battery will not catch fire and explode after being immersed in water at room temperature for half an hour at a depth of 1 metre, while FAW-Volkswagen has added the water immersion temperature impact test on the basis of the test, in which the battery pack is heated up to a high temperature of nearly 60 degrees Celsius, then immediately immersed into ice water of a few degrees Celsius and circulated for 20 times, so as to verify the rationality of the design of the structure of the battery pack and the stability of its craftsmanship by means of the ultimate thermal expansion and contraction and the effect of negative pressure, and to let even the slightest fluctuation of the welding process be verified. Even the slightest fluctuation in the welding process is verified and optimised. The passing standard of the test is to confirm that there is no change in the performance of the battery after comprehensive function and performance parameter testing and dismantling.
